Counselling Psychologist
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist in London, with 15 years’ experience in the NHS. I specialise in providing online therapy (via Zoom) or by telephone to help adults manage anxiety. My therapeutic approach combines Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and I combine this with strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) depending on the needs of the client.

I specialise in helping adults manage anxiety.

Compassion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (ACT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Online Therapy

Has anxious overthinking taken over your life? You may feel exhausted by a constant torrent of thoughts which you cannot switch off. Your mind may be cluttered with negative images of the past or future. Or perhaps they come and go, triggered by situations in which you feel “not good enough”. I provide online therapy to help you manage your anxiety and feel more in control of your life.

My Experience

I have worked for 15 years as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist in the NHS providing individual therapy to adults experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties, particularly anxiety and depression.

Previous professional experience included working as a Counselling Psychologist with women inmates at Holloway Prison, also adults in an NHS eating disorders service, and older adults in an NHS community mental health service.

I have also worked as a healthcare assistant on a psychiatric ward, a mental health advocate at PACE, an LGBTQ+ charity (although it was only called LGB then), and on the telephone information line of Mind, the mental health charity.

Before becoming a psychologist (my current passion), I worked for 10 years as secretary to the Literary Manager at the National Theatre (my previous passion) and in a manufacturing company.

As well as extensive experience helping clients with a range of anxieties, I have worked with many highly driven people in different work environments, and I have experienced burnout myself.  I now specialise in helping others manage work-related anxiety and overworking, exploring the causes, and developing long-term ways to manage these issues. Let me help you feel more in control of your life

My Training

Following my psychology degree at UCL (University College London), I completed the three-year postgraduate counselling psychology programme at City University, London.  This led to chartership by the British Psychological Society (in 2006) and registration by the Health Care Professions Council.

Counselling psychology training includes experience in many therapeutic approaches.  Since qualification I have attended extensive further training in Compassionate Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), as well as mindfulness and basic hypnotherapy.
